From CBS Sports:
Former Masters champions are always eligible to return to Augusta National for the Masters, and in 2016, there are 18 former champions currently listed in the field -- including Tiger Woods, whose status is still unknown.
Jordan Spieth will be back to defend following his dominant performance in 2015, and looks to join the list of 17 champions with multiple green jackets. Phil Mickelson will be in search of his fourth green jacket, looking to join the group of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods as the only champions with four or more wins at Augusta.
Bubba Watson will look to continue his streak of winning the Masters in even numbered years after taking home the green jacket in 2012 and 2014. Bernhard Langer and Jose Maria Olazabal are the other two multi-time Masters champions that will be in the field.
The rest of the list of returning champions includes those with legitimate shots at wins like Adam Scott and Zach Johnson, as well as those that won their green jackets in the 1980s like Larry Mize, Sandy Lyle and Langer.
